MATERIALS FOR HOTEL ROOM

What materials should a hotel room be made of? Glass, stone, natural wood or a wood-imitating board? There are many options, and each of them carries a specific durability and quality of the final product.

We present our recommendations developed on many 3 and 4-star hotel facilities.

HARD FURNITURE

These are all kinds of wardrobes, chests of drawers, desks, where in most of our projects, customers choose laminated chipboard. It is a durable material resistant to scratches and mechanical damage, thus it perfectly matches the requirements set for hotel furniture. Collections of laminated boards are now a very good looking product that well imitates natural wood and its structures. It is available in several dozen shades of wood and in mono-colors. Such a wide range of decors allows for the creation of countless architectural concepts.

Is laminated board the only solution? Of course not, the board can be replaced with a natural veneer board. However, here the option of shades and colors is small, and the product itself is more delicate and requires special use and care, which is extremely heavy in public spaces. It is also important that the price of this material is much higher than that of chipboard.

GLASS IN THE FURNITURE

Is glass a good solution? It depends on several factors. First of all, on how it will be “designed”, to what extent it will be a safe material for users, and to what extent it will pose a threat. First of all, the safety of guests should be borne in mind, bearing in mind that not everyone will be careful in the use of hotel furniture. We met a project where a coffee table with a glass top was chosen for a rather small room. Based on our experience, we recommended changing the top to a stone or a board to minimize the risk of damage to the furniture and injury to the hotel guest.

UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE

Sofas, pouffes, armchairs are now fixed elements of hotel room equipment. The most important element is their durability and the high standard of the furniture structure itself, which is worth paying attention to. The structure should be made of durable and overload-resistant materials, such as natural wood or plywood. In addition, high-quality polyurethane foam is extremely important, as it will remain durable even with frequent use to which a hotel room is exposed. The final material, i.e. the upholstery fabric, is the icing on the cake, and properly selected, it will give the interior its final shape. You can choose fabrics such as flock, chenille or jacquard. For hotels, we recommend choosing a smooth fabric that has no visible fibers that could be tight. Two other features necessary in a hotel interior are stain resistance and fire resistance of the fabric. Our offer includes several fabrics that meet these criteria.

After passing the design phase, in which our experienced consultants will suggest what materials to choose, what solutions to choose to optimize costs, taking into account the quality of workmanship and comfort of use, we proceed to the preparation of a sample room. This is the time to make sure that all decisions made in the field of materials meet the expectations of the Investor and the Architects who create the project.
